Receptionist Resume

Does your receptionist resume answer the call when it comes to conveying your skills for the best office jobs? To be a successful candidate for top receptionist jobs, it helps to have a comprehensive resume to your name. View the receptionist resume sample that resume expert Kim Isaacs created and use it as a guide to craft your own.

To stand out from the competition, skip the traditional receptionist resume objective and instead include an eye-catching headline that lets the reader know some of your standout qualities. What makes you great at what you do?

In addition, you want to prove your value as a team member. A great way to do that is by using numbers on your receptionist resume to help illustrate your accomplishments. Don't simply list your duties—after all, a hiring manager wrote the job ad so he/she is quite familiar with this position's responsibilities. So instead of putting all your focus on the best receptionist resume skills to include, take the time to seek out concrete examples of what you've achieved in previous positions.

For example, don't just put "data entry" as one of your skills; be sure to include the number of words per minute you can type. If you caught a billing error or were able to improve efficiency and subsequently saved your company money, let the reader know how much money. You'll see how we did this in our receptionist resume example below.

Note that the information you include on your resume can vary based on your industry. For example, if you're writing a hospital receptionist resume, you'll want to mention if you have specialized knowledge of medical terms and procedures, as well as the appointment-scheduling software you're familiar with. On the other hand, if you're writing a hotel receptionist resume, be sure to include the number of rooms in the hotel, plus other relevant customer service experience you may have.
